Mid Fiftys Aluminum radiator?

Has anyone used Mid Fiftys' Aluminum Crossflow radiator? Heres a link: http://www.midfifty.com/07catalog/Page%20120_121.pdf

I am looking at the large version to cool my Ford Racing 460 with 550hp and 545 Ft. Lbs of Torque. I already have an electric fan that should be capable of cooling it.
Im wondering if anyone here has used one or seen one installed? Mid Fifty told me it mounts inside the saddle which is how I would need it mounted. Just hoping to verify this before I hand over $550 bucks.
Thanks,
Cory

I have the copper one with polished top from Mid-Fiftys. It is made by U.S. Radiator. The folks at Mid-Fifty are great at getting you what you need. I don't think they would steer you in the wrong direction. Is this for a Full race truck or a street cruiser?

I have heard good things about mid fifties alluminum radiators but if you want a really cool copper radiator call Steve long, they are a little more expensive but they look and cool great. I done have his number right off but he is located on gasoline alley in indy.

Im building the truck for a street cruisable weekend racer. Im running a stock 4 core radiator from a 70's F100 and during summer its just not up to the job. Im hoping the aluminum will be the answer.

Have you tries an electric fan in front?, it might help pull more volume through to keep it cooler and is much cheaper than a new radiator.

Looks good, any issues with room though-being a 460 you must be pretty close to the firewall to be able to run an electric fan on the grill side.way more efficient on engine side.Nice build you have

I can't tell from the pictures but when you created the tilt front did you ensure that you maintained a good air cooling fit of the sheet metal in the area around the radiator or can you see areas where cooing air coming through the grill can bypass without going through the core of your radiator. I would make sure that you can't have cooling air bypass first-the no $ possible option. I am not familiar with the sheet metal on your year truck but I was very careful to maintain or fabricate new air bypass shield on my 49. In short, all air coming thru the grill you want to be sure that it can only go thru the radiator core not above it, below it or around the sides of it.

Thanks for the compliments and replies.
The truck already had the front tilt when I bought it, and I never paid attention to how close the sheet metal was to the radiator. Its a good idea, and Im sure it could only help. But Im fairly sure I need a new radiator. Mine is 30 something years old anyway. Thanks.
