If you are planning to do a conversion and don't want to pay Ford's price of $60 a connector, see link above.

Pretty neat setup. It just converts the truck plug to the light plug? I like it.

They make adapters to go from say a 9007 to a 9008. Also you can buy the plug only or the plug with wires. I just bought the plug with wires so I can do the 05 headlight conversion. Later on, if I want to, I can try the Bi-Xenons and if I don't like it, I can go back to the H13 bulb.

Little over my head there on the second half
How is the conversion going? Where did you end up getting your lights? I talked to a guy at a body shop in Milton and he is looking into them from an aftermarket/crash parts supplier. He said they still won't be very cheap...

One word of caution. you are missing 3 screws and a rubber gasket with this guy. Under $10 total. Still a good price.

I have tinted my driver and passenger door windows to match the rest. Also the windshield. So it is pretty dark inside, which is the way I like it. So, this upgrade is supposed to give me more light. You see, it is hard to see when the weather is bad like when it is snowing and you turn on the lights now. They say the 9008s are brighter. If that is not sufficient, I will use the Xenons. Usually, you will lose your high beams unless you get Bi-Xenons. Reason being that the 9008 bulb is basically 2 bulbs in 1. A high and a low. With Bi-Xenons, you will have your high and low.

I don't know if the 9008's themselves are brighter or not, but when I swapped in my '05 headlights I did get more light than with my old stock lights. Both are/were with Silverstars too, so the bulbs were comparable as far as quality and brand.

I am always looking for more light though, and don't mind the blue color of Xenons, but I do see what might be a problem. The description in the ebay link says the arc switches quickly between low & high beam. The wiring harness I have runs both high and low beams at the same time when I have high beams on. If I understand it, this would not be possible to run both high and low beams at the same time with Bi-Xenon bulbs...is this correct?

I would think it is either high or low. Is what you have the "Brite Box" thingy?

Same principle, but built it myself. 12 GA wires powering the lights directly from the battery and the stock wiring is only used to activate relays. My fog lights are setup the same way. I've done this on several vehicles, and typically see a decent improvement in light output. I know my Wrangler went from a dim yellow to a bright white light.
