DEEN,BB79,DANNYP THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
Well, after checking all of the obvious I finally pulled a valve cover. What I found was that the top, last turn of the valve spring for the intake valve on No. 8 cylinder was broken. The speculation is, the reason the miss would go away after the truck was warmed and then shut off, is while its sat off , either the valve guide warmed or oil would work its way in to the point that would allow the valve to completely close . Then upon restarting the weakened valve spring would have enough tension to completely close the valve. All fixed and running.
Anyway, thanks for your suggestions.
