my mileage and other news

well, i tested the mileage today on an 85 mile round trip. i sat out to drive at 60-65mph on the parkway. that worked going to the farm. i managed it. i had one ton of cow feed, 200 pounds of minerals, and 100 pounds of oats and shell corn for my mules. on the way back i was cruising along at 60 MPH..........then comes a cummins. PMS flared. i floored it. we raced. i waxed him. i slowed down to 60 mph. then comes a mustang GT. he tries to play with me. i played back. i hung with him on kick till i met my rev limiter (yikes). i let out cause i dont like high RPM's. i slowed to 60 mph. here came a girl in GT. i showed her how we stroke it. i slowed back down. my mileage was 17 mpg. not bad eh??? and thats with no additive.

pyro said 650 with the feed in the bed. racing i was too busy scouting for cops to look at it, but didnt race long, so it wasnt too bad.

so your saying you hung with an mustang gt and beat an unloaded cummings with over a ton in your bed and got 17mpg while doing it, my bs meater is going off. maby the cumming was towing a cattle trailer pulling 15,000lbs and the mustang was a 4 banger

NO NO NO i was empty on the return trip. 45 miles to the farm with feed, 40 back to the gas station. i raced on the way back. both mustangs were autos i'm pretty sure. i kicked with the first mustang from a 65 mph roll till my speedo burried, and thats when i hit my rev limiter, by that time he was pulling on me of course. but yes, all in all my avg fuel mileage was 17 mpg.

how do you figure your fuel mileage for such a short trip? 85 miles is not even a half tank.

fill it up. drive x amount of miles (in this case 80) divide 80 miles by how many gallons it held

i dont think thats what he's talking about, i know that the less of the tank you use, the less accurate the readings are. you want to burn atleast a half of tank if not more to get a more accurate reading of how many mpg your gettings...

Have you ever tested to see if ODO matches to 1 mile and 10 miles.
Just to see how in cal it is with your current driveline.

I have seen the mph match while the ODO was off.
Speed vs distance are not the same.
Good old Fraud.

Man, No offense, but seriously there are only 3 explanations for that whole mustand scenario.

1. Whoever was in it had no clue how to drive
2.They REALLY werent racing you
3. 6cyl pony junk.

Unless by pulling on you, you meant that it was about 10 car lengths after ten seconds.

I have a 01 with a decent tuner that EATS obs powerstrokes up in a race, but it doesnt really hold a candle to a gt. Especially rolling. From a start I can hang till about 50, then they start pulling. I am just trying to keep things in perspective.

Yea, sorry 2 stroke they didn't know how to drive or was 6-cylinder or never happened. My dad has an 02 GT 5-speed, on the way up to school we both left the tool booth in NH and I turned my chip up to 140 (or whatever the highest setting on TS chip is...). I was on it hard dad was next to me, smiled, Down shifted and off he went.

i never said any of them knew how to drive, and said i thought they were autos. saturday night we went out and i ran cop in rear for some guys that were racing GT's and some old 5.0 cobras. i stayed in the shadows when they went off the line. stayed in the shadows for a bit till they wound out. 5th gear and they were gone. all were 5 speeds. they knew how to drive them.
