spark plug queston
Before I attempt the endevour of changing the spark plugs on my 04 f150 5.4, I would like to know what new plugs to buy? What brands of plugs have all my fellow 5.4 owners used and have had success with? Im thinking autolites that orellys sells or spending the extra money and getting the ford motorsport plugs that rpmoutlet.com has. any input will be great. thanks everyone

yea im thinking autolits are the best way to go. as for doing the job myself, i plan on consulting a former ford dealer mechanic who opened his own shop where i live. He comes highly reccomended by a friend of mine and has the tooling to take out broken plugs if that were to happen. most likely i will pay him to do the job for me. man thats hard to say. ive never had to pay somebody to change sparkplugs for me before.

i THINK all the modulars take the same plug. AP103's!! or APP103's .......
on the V10 the motorcraft equivalent is a platinum 103. it's kind of a toss up between a platinum and DOUBLE platinum. i used the plat 103, torqued them down and checked them after a tank of gas.
check your local wally world and it will save you a few buck compared to the motorcraft. and on a side not MC and Autolite are the same company........different wraper. so if somone says autolites are junk and they only run MC..........just smile and agree, hahaha!!
