sorry to post another 460 conversion post but I read a while ago that if swapping from a 400 attached to an np435 to a 460 that was attached to a c-6 and you are ditching the c-6 and attaching the 460 to the np435 that you would need a differant bell housing. Is this true?

I heard that u had to change to a transfer case that mounts to an automatic if you change from a stick. Something to do with the splines being different. Just checkin to make sure. I'm also doin a 460 swap. in my 78 f150. It also has a 400 with a 4 speed manual, but i want to go with the c6. If you hear any helpful hints please share them, thanx.

The only change I am aware of that you would have to make to the transfer case is where it mounts. There are two sets of holes on the side of the frame where the mount bolts to, one is used for an auto, and the other for the stickshift. This is for the NP205, if you have the NP203 I believe the mounts are different and this may not apply. Good luck.
