Vacuum Modulator Valve

I have a '76 Bronco 302 with a C4. I am replacing modulator valve on transmission and the Ford dealer has 3 color codes listed. He says I must match up color to the old one to get correct replacement. Of course after 30 years there is no color left on the old one. Autozone lists black stripe type which doesn't work properly.
Does anyone know correct color code for this Bronco.
Thanks.

My source lists a black stripe single port, a purple single port and a red 2 port. Why wouldn't the black stripe one work for you?

I tried the black stripe from Autozone and the shifting was not normal. Much higher rpms to shift from 1st to 2nd and slightest touch of accelerator would cause downshift from 3rd to 2nd. at all speeds.

Called several parts stores, another Ford dealer, and finally a transmission shop and got different answers from all of them. Trans tech said black stripe is for diesels and heavy duty use. I have most faith in him - he said to get a green stripe but I thought I would check to be sure.

Rock Auto lists about 5 different colors all for 76 Bronco.

I did some checking. The ATP brand FX187 is the green stripe version should be the one you need. I was able to narrow it down to 2 possibilities, a single port and a dual port.

Right you are RCrawler. I picked up and installed the green stripe this morning as suggested by the older trans tech who remembered working on old Broncos. Works exactly like the original.

Autozone part # MV209 or MV317-green stripe. $9.99

Thanks again.
