Question T444e

Are the T444E engines in the international trucks the same engine as in our trucks? And when I say 'same' I mean could it be a bolt in replacement. I understand they are the same displacement etc, just been seein a lot of low mileage busses out there for a reasonable price.

Yes they are the same. The long block is the same. The injectors may or may not be different depending on the application.

Agreed, I'm almost positive they have a different fuel system.

every thing can be swapped. No problems there. The heads, block, valve covers, and oil cooler are all the same to the best of my knowledge. Fuel system and turbo can be directly swpped over.

I am nut sure whats different, but I know they dont rev like our motors at all. Think that they max at like 2400 or 2500 rpms, but I cant remember right off the top of my head. I know they have wastegated turbos too, and IC's.

When I went to buy a new fuel heater for my truck at International they told me that it was a Ford only part, that fuel system on our trucks was a Ford design. So yes you should be able to switch them but theirs may be a better design anyhow?

95, You can upgrade the fuel heater to International #1831196C92. This heater won't break loose like the OBS Fords do and short out & blow fuse #22. There is a little modification to the fuel bowl but it's really a piece of cake and well worth the effort.

As for RPM thats in the computer programming. Not a mechanical function of the motor so that won't be an issue.
