88 F-250 7.3 IDI ZF to ZF6?

Ok, all 7.3s are related being that the bottom end of the block is the same. i.e a 88 7.3 is the same as a 95 7.3 block. 97 on Im not sure. Anyone know if the trans bolt pattern is the same? Im thinking that since Ive heard of swapping a 4r100 into an E4OD truck that the bolt pattern is the same. Anyone have any ideas?????

well, i do know that the 88 ZF-5 speed uses a speedo cable, and the ZF-6 speed uses a vss, so you will not have a speedometer unless you put an electronic speedo in.

if your wanting to swap a ZF-5 to a ZF-6 then its possible but theres alot of work involved. If you search the forums you should find alot of threads about it. I know this because i wanted to do it to a 1993 F250 but after reading decided it wasnt worth all the work.
