460 in 7.3's place?

My mechanic "buddy" said I could bolt a 460 right in where my tired 7.3 diesel lived. Is this possible? How much trouble? 1990 F250HD 5 spd. Thanks.

I dont think so! I converted a 6.9 lt diesel to a 460, and had to change the wiring harness, motor mounts, and the transmission bolt patterns for the diesel and gas were different so i had to change the transmission.
