Thanks for all the insight. It's very helpful to get everyone's opinion. I'll probably just end up putting on a new carb and possibly changing out the Points on it. As mentioned I'm not looking to hop up the engine or make it some racing engine but rather just want to get some more power and make it run in top condition so I can get up the hills better. Top speed is of no concern. I'd just like to be able to get up some of the hills around here faster than 15 mph

What is a good electronic ignition to get for a 361HD for a 64 f750?

A Pertronix would probably fit in there, but what about the governor, if there is one?

This is going to sound crazybut that's to be expected from my posts? :/

If you are talking about high elevation situations...
Try reducing the richness of the "full power circuit" in the carburetor. :)

BTDT and it worked like a champ and I'm talking about an only 4900 ft summit.

Went from doggin it in 2nd and 3rd to flyin' over that bee;)otch in 4th. 8-D

...with a camper full of stuff and draggin a dunebuggy too.

YMMV
Worth a try to ya?
I completely defeated the full power circuit in my 2100 2V as an experiment.
