do you hvae gauges? that is always a plus, the kityt isnt the best thing to stillhave on there with any mods and neither is the k and n filter. i tow frequently with a chip and a 14.7k and i have never had a problem, i dont have gauges but i also dont push the truck to do 80 mph at the crest of the hill, also dont lug the truck, egt's will soar at low rpms under load
i took 6 grown cows in a cattle trailer (total of about 13,000) which isnt a big load, and topped a big hill in the floor running 75 after hitting it at 70 in drive and had no prob. with all my mods i hit #900 max temp. it was about 50 degrees out. still havent towed big since my gauges.
Thats prety amazing 2 stroke, the rest of the trucks around here run about 650 at 60 mph with 4:10 gears, and a hill like that would easily push 1000 plus. You must have one bad azz truck.........
is your egt pre or post turbo? if thats pre then you have an excellent running truck, running the icp mod on top of a chip should yield higher numbers. i need to get gauges so i can check on mine
I always heard 300 degree drop pre to post which means 900 is max post turbo. That is the number I have been using cause I am to lazy to move the EGT sensor the last owner put in the banks supplied spot.
So what is the consensus? 300 degree or 200 degree drop pre to post turbo, does anybody know for sure
Considering that the melting point for aluminum is 12 20 point something, I wonder how a duramax can run 1400???
As for two stroke, I thought his was in the correct spot. Thats about right then, thats what both my trucks run. My dually a litle less. OI suppose thats from more weight distribution of the dual rears than a single, maybe?
For a min, I thought Two stroke had a truck ford should look at at!!!! LOL
