New guy to bio diesel. Is it realy worth buying a bio diesel kit to convert deep fry grease to bio diesel ? Besides a seperate heated tank what other modes and how much would it cost to convert [ball park].My truck is a 03 6liter.AS of today i pay $1.08 a liter for diesel.
If your running true bioDiesel (glycerin removed) then you don't have to heat the tank...but running a secound tank isn't a bad idea if it's cold (below 40F) where you live. Now if your running wvo (just filtered, nothing else)...then yes you'll need to heat the fuel in the tank to burn it....AFTER the engine has reached operation temperature.
I personally run wvo straight in 2 vehicles - both with appropriate kits installed. If I had room at home (ie a barn) I would probably be doing biodiesel. I think most biodiesel guys build their own processor, but some of the new off the shelf models look pretty sweet.
