mcdhighboy is starting off with a positive reputation.
highboy engine swap

any ideas if i can swap a 1994 (I think) 7.3L diesel into a 1977 highboy with a 351M? will 4 speed manual bolt up and any other problems I may run into?

I don't think the four speed will bolt up.
I am sure it will be said (anything is possible)
Did you think about a 460 swap bolts right in with minor mods.
I did a 460 swap on my 77 and it was the best move I ever made the truck ran like a bear the power compaired to the M was unbelivable and fuel milage was close.

From what I've been told the bellhousing is different, you can bolt a 460 up to it though. Being a Highboy you could put a 4 speed from a diesel in the truck and make a new middle drive shaft to connect to the T-case. I'd be afraid of the case twisting too much with the added torque. Couldn't belive how much they move when horsed.
You'll need to beef up the front suspension, along with the cooling system.
All depends on how much money you want to spend.
