429 2V-4V..?
LAST EDITED ON 11-Feb-01 AT 09:14 PM (EST)[p] There is or was no difference between the base model 429-460 heads, whether for use with a 2 barrel or 4 barrel. They only changed the manifold's configuration. BTW the 429 used both 2 barrel and 4 barrel manifolds where as the 460 ONLY used a 4 barrel manifold during production.

429 2V-4V..?
hey John C., what's up? yes Todd is correct on the head info. the only other difference in these are the compression ratios. the 2v engine is 10.5:1 at 320 hp. at 4400 and 460 lb.ft of torque at 2200 r.p.m. and the 4V engine is 11.0:1 ratio at 360 hp at 4600 and 480 lb. ft. of torque at 2800 r.p.m. these numbers are taken from the ford service manual. take it easy. C.J. later.........

429 2V-4V..?
Thanks CJ for the info
Hey, should I get any head work done when I start to re-build other than general? I plan to go to a aluminum intake w/ 4 bbl,
cam, bore if I have to, pistons, crank turned if needed. The engine only had 100k on it when removed.
And..any ball park figure on HP..? also any tips you may have
thanks again
