460 vac. hose route question

I have a 78 460, on the air cleaner lid there is a valve, both vac lines are missing. Anyone know where these might go? Also the cartridge that looks like an oil filter, whats it for? Thanks
Robert

460 vac. hose route question

If I am not mistaken, (been awhile since I've used that setup)
one hose goes from the lid to the valve on the end of the snorkel
(flap that lets in air on the end of air cleaner housing) and the other hose goes to a vacuum source, Carburetor).

There are hoses under the air breather on the breather box they run up from under there to the snorkel on the breather box.

I believe that "cartridge that looks like and oil filter" would be your breather element. If it's oil soaked, replace it. It is where post combustion gases escape from the motor throught the PCV valve back to the air intake to be 'reburned' for lower emissions.
