OEM Shocks under Warranty?

Does anyone know if the factory shocks are covered under warranty? I looked in the manual but it does not give a definitive answer. Mine aren't leaking but seem to wearing out. I have 17,000 mi on the truck. Second question, how much resistance should you feel by hand on these shocks? Thanks.

I think they will be fairly easy to compress. If they don't want to uncompress then you have a problem, or if they just shoot right back then you have a problem. With only 17k miles they should be okay.

The factory-supplied shocks are fairly low quality pieces. Don't expect them to last very long Mine were completely worn out by 16K miles. When I removed them I could easily compress and expand them by hand with no effort.

I replaced them with Bilsteins and it made a tremendous difference in the ride and handling.

just do the bounce test

get on your bumper and bounce up/down really hard...the truck should stop by the second bounce

If you need shocks, and don't necessarily have to have a certain brand, Monroe sells both the shocks and struts for the F150.
Very reasonable price and they do come with a lifetime warranty.

When they wear out, you return them to the local store where you bought them and you get free replacements.
I have done that. I walked in with old shocks and walked out with new ones.
No questions asked and no problems at all.

I am happy with them all the way around.

Brian, Were those Reflexs. I have been looking at those and they seem like a good shock for the money. I don't do any serious off-roading, just 4 wheel when tough conditions call for it. I do a lot of highway driving so am looking for comfort also. Thanks.

Yep, that would be them.
Nice bang for the buck IMO.
Should serve you well.
