Pyrometer Question

I have a Auto Meter pyrometer that is new in the box. It didn't come with a probe kit which I am told will cost me right around $100. Will any type k thermocouple work? They can be had for less than $20 with 10' leads. Any input would be appreciated.

07psdrookie is starting off with a positive reputation.
All the ads I've seen say the Autometer can be combined with any type Ks. But you may want to give them a call to double check.
