take this poll!

ok i would like to hear ya'lls opinion. its a 79 f-100, short wheelbase, 400 engine, two wheel drive. should i make a nice pre-runner out of it with flared fenders, and bedsides, full cage, 35'' tire's. long travel suspension, the works. or should i go down with it and do more of a nastruck type biuld, with 16x8 front, 16x10 back, black nascar style wheels, exhaust out one side, full cage, and a supercharger (one day). what do ya'll think? it'll be a while before i can get some pics up, sorry.

Since it's 2 wheel drive do the nascar hot rod truck theme. Thats the route I'm taking with my 77 f-100 shortbed.

I'm with Ground-Hogg. It would probably look good but theres no sense in wasting the lift and tires on a 2wd

Yep, 2wd trucks just don't seem like they should be lifted and run on big tires.

Never saw the point of lifting a 2wd truck.

My 74' F-100 Reg Cab Short Bed has big 285/70/15 (10"w wheels) on the back with small 235/70/15 on the front with stock ride height. I like that look on a 2wd truck.

I also think that you should make a hot rod street truck out of it. Not a fan of NASCAR so i am not calling it a NasTruck. I really like the supercharger and black wheels though.

You didn't mention where you are from, but if you have a desert, lots of open space, or even rural gravel roads or two tracks nearby, the prerunner would be the bomb! Two wheel drive is perfect for the prerunner, as you don't go mudding or rock crawling with it, you blast across rugged open country at crazy speeds. You can get front suspension kits from Camburg Engineering, for example, quite reasonably that work great. And a true pre-runner doesn't have a lot of lift, just a lot of travel. My guess is that the 400 would launch a lightened truck quite well. When you think about it, do you really want to build a truck that "looks" like a Nas-truck when you can accelerate your heart rate and give yourself real live white knuckles in an economically built "real" pre-runner?
