Will I need to remove my 460 for Hedman Headers???
LAST EDITED ON 05-May-01 AT 08:25 AM (EST) by DeenHylton (moderator)[p]I want to get Hedmand headers real bad and need to know what problems I will run into with my 77 Ford F-150 2x4. I know I will need a heat sheild and stuff but I don't want to remove my motor.

Just a friendly reminder to keep the language (and signature lines) clean...this is a family site and I found your signature line to be offensive. If it happens again your ability to post will be denied. Deen

Everyone needs to "Chill Out" a little...we are all here as Ford fans and need to help each other out.
I can't speak for your F150 frame...but when I installed my Headman headers in my F250 it helped to loosen the motor mounts and jack the engine up about half an inch to get the drivers side to go on. Once the header was in place the engine was set back down. I did not need to put a heat shield on for the starter but there is a factory heat shield that covers the fuel filter for an F250 (drivers side). I have seen some other posts that refered to having to notch the frame for clearance but once again I'm not sure what frame or year of truck they were talking about.
