I can't imagine how that poor van lasted thru 1,000,000 miles of abuse like that.

I think it's a 5.4L and a 4R100, web site isn't real clear on that.

The part about the 55K mile oil change is what got me... But then, maybe all the varnish is what's holding it together?

it's a 5.4l. 55k is believable if he does add a quart with every tank of gas w/ the miles he is putting on. 1k miles in a day- that is a lot. don't know how many miles he gets to a tank, but i would guess ~300. so that's 3 quarts added that day to a 6 quart system.

it's seems a little hard to believe, but you never know.

Call up Ford!!!!!!!!!!!! I just read in a paper a guy in southern WI or Chicago area reported he got 1,000,000 miles on his 87 or 88 chev .
We don't need chevys getting all that press because we all knowFords are twice and then some compared to a GM made product.
GO FORD.

A million miles isn't too terribly impressive...there's that guy with the Volvo with two and a half times that. What's impressive is that it still runs with the way that guy drives it.
