i would highly recommend the BTS transmission. i had nothing but good dealings with the thompsons when i drove up there to get mine. i would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a transmission. plus they will set your tranny up for the amount of power that you are running at the time, and then when you upgrade something brian will tell you how to upgrade it (valvebody tweaks) for that level.
glasseater what you need to think about is:
1. how much will it cost to drive to lead Hill arkansas and back
2. the shipping of the transmission from lead hill to NJ, and then your core back to lead hill. plus the amount of downtime you will incure. also do you have the $1000 or so dollars extra on hand for the core charge?
compare question 1 and 2 and you have your answer as to whether you should drive to arkansas and get one or have it shipped.
now on to the suncoast side. their transmission is right at $2500 without out a torque converter, add that in and you have a $3800 transmission, which is what the BTS cost's. now look at the parts that are included (aftermarket persay) with that transmission, and then call BTS and find out what kind of extras that they put in theres and then compare those two. what you will find as i did when i was looking for my transmission is that BTS will come out on top as a cheaper yet better transmission. also what you should think about is what kind of warranty does suncoast offer versus BTS's.
if you have any more questions feel free to PM me.
and obviously im PRO BTS
