Thinking about a '04 f150 - 90,000 miles

I have a chance to purchase an '04 f150 with 90,000 highway miles, extended cab, airlift bags, NICE Truck, for $10,000
Is this too high of mileage for this year? Any major problems with these? I currently drive a 79 f-100 with about 300,000, so I sure anything new would be better. Just not sure about the miles and problems.
Any help appreciated.

If it has the 5.4 3v triton, make them change the dam- plugs. They can and probably will break and might leave you with a head job(no pun intended)

aye, get them to change out the spark plugs and that'll be a great deal

if it's 4x4, the only thing you may need to worry about is the IWE solenoid, cheap part, easy to replace, but goes out often if it's not shielded from the elements (it's not from the factory anyway).

$10k sounds a little high to me, but it depends on the way the trucks condition is. especially since a new xl can be had for under $20k. 300,000 miles would be wearing thin on me also. is the truck a XLT or FX4...maybe Lariat?

the sparkplugs for the 5.4 is about the only real big issue I can think of.

V8 4.6 Liter Triton 2WD

This is a Lariat, leather seating, custom rims, 20"+ wheels, bed liner, towing pkg, air ride lift kit. The 2 back doors are like half doors not full sized.

Truck is in great almost new condition and we are in California. What about mileage. So I assume this is not the motor with the spark plug issue?

I'd say 10k is a little high for a 03, espepcially with 90k miles on it. I got my truck for $16k and it had 14,000 miles on it when i bought it. Granted it is the second up from the base trim line but still this was what i paid from the dealership... What does KBB say for estimated value?

I just ran an oasis report on it, and the only thing its ever been to a dealership for is the recall. So it looks like its been a solid truck. As long as your not planning on doing a lot of towing, I would think it should be a fine.

I would think that being the last year of that model it would be pretty reliable. I would say 90k miles is nothing for that truck. It could easily last you 200k miles.

true. and for a supercrew lariat, it is about the going rate. is it 4x4 or not?? if it's 4x4 it's a good deal, if it's 4x2, not that great. i'd say 10k is somewhere in the middle basically. should be somewhere between 8.5k and 13k depending on options and how it looks...
