Can the oil filter adapter be removed easily from a van 460?

Hello people,
I have finally read enough about the 460's and hunted and searched till I got the right deal. I purchased a 79 E-250 donor van with a rear sump 460 in it with the C-6 auto. It has recently been rebuilt also. The transmission is weak and the owner was not going to sink any more money in to it. I have milked my 400 long enough, not much left . I was going to go back with the 400 but the calling of more power was overwhelming . My question is this 460 has some sort of adapter on it to make the oil filter pretty much vertical to clear the frame in the van. Does this adapter come off with no problem to allow the oil filter to fasten up against the block and go out at the normal Ford angle. I will have to have it that way to fit in the notched out place in the frame on my 4x4. I have also aquired a set of factory engine towers for a 460 to fit my 82 F-250 4x4 and the dip stick and tube. I guess I'm set to go, right??

There should be a single bolt in the centre of the adaptor that screws into the block. after you unscrew that the adaptor will come right off. You will then need a center adaptor type bolt that will screw into the block and accept the oil filter. No big deal.

I am thinking about buying another complete 460 from a 77 Lincoln for parts. I suppose I could get this part off that motor. Thanks. What would be to much to give for a complete motor, all brackets and pulleys, Motorcraft spreadbore with a tight throttle shaft (not loose and sloppy) air cleaner assembly?
