Finally installed my custom valve covers

Well, folks, I had some time on my hands today. My truck is down waiting on parts so I decided to take the plunge and install my custom valve covers. I fabricated the valve covers just about a year ago. Then it took me 6 months to paint them.
Here they are, on the truck....Finally!

They really look good and also look original. I agree with Randy, you got to get some fresh paint on that aircleaner!

Sweet! but that air cleaner needs a 49 Lincoln hood ornament on it..

(private joke)

Almost a shame to paint that obviously authentic Caddy air cleaner housing (almost! I said)

Leave that Air Cleaner just the way it is.
A couple trips around the block and that oil breathin' Monster Caddy Mill will spooge that whole engine compartment back to GM Specs.

Some of our inmates here may have been under heavy meducation and or are new to the center and are not aware that those valve covers are one-off, designed and built by Bobby.
If you have the opportunity look up the thread and read how he took several sets of perfectly good valve covers, cut them up making lots of pieces of sharp metal edges, beat, clamped, and welded the cuts on his body together, invoked the basic concept of "Put the Wet Stuff on the Red Stuff", and despite himself ended up with the work of art that he has shared with us today.
Well done Sir.
