new to forum

just bought a 2000 x limited 2wd psd 87k miles. The truck is actually being shipped to me I bought it in Miami. What is the basic stuff I should check. I have to be honest I am a CUMMINS man, but I needed a SUV for the wife that could pull a horse trailer. Thanks Allen Flynt

Allen,

Welcome to the FTE site, you will love it. Sound like you bought yourself a pretty nice truck. All you questions can be asked here; just like the rest of us, you probably have a few!! Anyway, you should definatly check out the steering components up front, they tend to get a little loose and rattle. Since you are towing, you might want to install a brake controller if there is not one already installed. Then check the brake pretty good, the stock rotors can and do warp pretty easily. You might want to change them to powerslot rotors and a good set of hawk pad for the added braking power (it does help, the X is a lot to stop). You might hear a knocking sound up front that could lead you to a sway bar linkage or front body mount, they are big culprits for alot of noise. Other than those few things, and I am sure someone else will chime in more for the things I might have forgotten, that is pretty much it.

Enjoy the truck and tack regular care if it and you will get alot of miles out of it.

Thanks, Bryan
