....310 wow 10 hp thats it.....the new dodge will have 380hp/ 404lb-ft. I'm kinda bummed now, although its not like i can afford one but still i think they will lose a bunch of sales mainly because of having such low hp numbers. I dont know time will tell.

They are publishing numbers from no source other than rumor. Take it with a grain of salt.

geez, how many times are people going to keep posting these bogus numbers on here. The 5.4 already has 365 lb-ft torque...

Motor Trend published these too and I think some blogs. They are all just copying the same wrong information from each other.

This info was posted on a mustang board a few days ago and the people that posted it have a remarkable record for being right. Take that with a grain of salt.

And where did the Mustang people get it?

I have several discussions with Ford people when I was there. When I pressed them about horsepower I got big grins followed by remarks like "its going to be big surprise", "very improved", "folks will really like it", etc. No indication whatsoever that the amount would be minor. Additionally, and many folks on this site have a remarkable record for being right.

Considering those numbers are exactly the same as reported earlier by another source, it seems highly likely that folks are just copying one another. There's a lot of plagiarism in the publishing industry (I once had an ABC reporter take huge sections of my 2004 F150 review without permission -- I reported it to her boss and managed to get it pulled).

Ken, the person that reported this was not who I thought it was. There are two members of this forum that have been so accurate on the mustang powertrains that they are very much trusted.

Take this with a grain of salt. I appologize that I got the people mixed up but there is a lot of cross over information in reguards to powertrains in the mustang/f150 world.

there's a guy on the blueovalforums named Igor (I assume he works for Ford, don't know where/which department) who said expect a "mild" increase in the 4.6V8 and a "moderate" increase in the 5.4V8.

So "moderate" sounds interesting but exactly how much will that be???
