Smile Progammable Starting Timer

Hello,
Has Anybody Found Or Is Using A Programmable Timer Start System For Their Ex? Remote Start Would Not Work For Me, But A Timer System Would Work Great. I Work 3rd Shift And I Sure Would Like To Have It Running When I Get Out To My Truck
Thanks For Any Info
Jeff

If a remote won't work due to distance/interferance limitations, I've heard of a remote that you dial from you cell phone to start (I assume receiver is in truck). Don't know brand and it was a gasser/car but you might see what you can find out. Seemed to work OK.

I have a Pyton GPS alarm that uses cellular to give me updates. It works great!!! I can call in and tell it to start / stop, open / close the windows, manuallay locate the vehicle, disable / enable the starter, and bread crumb the vehicle meaning track it via gps. You can even tell it to start for "x" time and then shut down for "x" time (this is programmable, not changable every time) it you don't know excactly when you are going out. You do have to remember to turn on the heat and blower when you get out, but that isn't to hard when it is cold outside. It also calls me it the alarm has gone off, if the vehicle battery is low (it itself has a battery), if the vehicle is moved without running (ie stolen or towed), and if it crosses the boarder. I have it actually call my and my wife's cell, and then email me also. It works great if you have a diesel with the glow plugs; it also has a turbo timer for shut downs. The remote works outside over a mile away and inside about 3/4 mile away.

Anyway, I hope this bit of info helps. I know that is does not actully have a set time to run the vehicle, I have not heard of any just for the liability of the vehicle being somewhere is shouldn't and then start. Imagine the mechanic working on the truck when it tries to start. OUCH!!!

Thanks, Bryan

The Brand itself is a python, and it is manufactured by DEI Electronics. They are probably the number one manufacturer or aftermarket alarms and such and they sell under a few different names including viper and precision power to name a few.

DEI Electronics

I hope this helps, they have a dealer locator, but most upper level car stereo shops sell atleast one of the brands.

Personally I would go with the Python label, it has the best of the reviews at CES.
