1992 460 Intermittent Lifter Tick and Intermittent High Oil Pressure

I have a 1992 Fleetwood Bounder with a 460 with a noisy lifter. It's not noisy all the time but there's not much rhyme or reason to when the noise starts or stops. Except that the oil pressure gauge often (not always) reads high when the lifter gets noisy.

Where does the oil pressure gauge sensor/sender for this year 460 take it's reading? Is there a common blockage point after the sender? Or maybe a pressure regulator or bypass that could be sticky? Seems like high oil pressure would NOT cause a noisy lifter.

I put 10W30 and a new Wix filter on the engine with 1/2 quart of Rislone hoping the noise might be cured. Long shot... And nope.

The vehicle is parked. I don't want to damage the cam (or anything else if there's a catastrophic failure). The high oil pressure concerns me most. I'd like to address that and see what happens with the lifter noise, then swap the lifters if necessary.

Any advice?

The OP sender is in the middle of the motor at the top, behind the TB adaptor that bolts to the intake manifold.

Anybody know a trick to get this intake manifold free

Is there a good place to pry where I won't break anything? I have a pry bar, a 4x4 to distribute load into the engine cover, and a chain. I'm pulling as hard as I dare against the thermostat housing bolt and against another smaller bolt on the driver side. No dice!

And a quick update while we're at it.
I pulled the pan and found a cracked pickup tube. I replaced it and the oil pump. Now the oil pressure is correct.

Unfortunately, the lifter tick persists and it is actually worse (with lots of Rislone this time). So I'm pulling the manifold (obviously) and valve covers to see what's up.

Ugh! There were two bolts in the "middle" of the manifold. They were threaded on top so they looked like any other stud threaded into the aluminum manifold. Nope, they were also manifold mounting bolts. Oops.

Manifold off.

I'll pull the valve covers in the next couple days.

Find out which lifter it is then bring it's piston up to tdc. comp. stroke. Then you can check that lifters preload.
