Hot Rod mag, March '08, on the news stands with a 530 horse 331 Ford on the cover. Page 19, "Inside the OEMs"
They claim some subscribers are insiders, they have some pics and say it is "....larger but similar in layout to the ...modular V8.....built on 4.54 inch bore centers...6.2 in initial form....capacity to go over 7.0 liters. ...F 150...2009...Mustang in 2010. "
about damn time Ford woke up.. with that big of a bore and a smaller (i imagine it's not gonna have the diesel 4.17 stroke the 5.4 has) stroke, it should make a nice platform to build mounds of power on...

I have not posted since about January 2007, at that time Cleveland plant was too start casting of cylinder blocks for production in January 2009 for the Navigator and F150. Of course Cleveland is now being moth balled.I have not been asssociated wih anything since then so I checked with a fellow up at the Windsor plant which will machine the crankshafts.
They are posting for setup mechanics for the line and the pace is picking up. They are too be grinding crankshafts for production in January 2009. So it looks like the time table is the same. The Boss V8 for the Mustang is still set for a mid 2010 go. I believe the Mustang will be a 2010 model. There were 3 different engines to come from this program and I believe the "press" is more confused because program names change as different phases are completed. Another V8 is set for Essex plant in Canada once they get everything straight. Supposedly this is the twin turbo 5.0 V8 that I have heard about..but know nothing about.
Regards!
