I had a 500 performer on my 302 with a performer intake...... it was the same as the stock 2bbl..... put the 600 on.... it smacked my head off the glass on my trucks back window

I have heard of the 600 eddy bogging at WOT but I have not experienced a problem with any flat spots, and I also have a riser to increase the HP at higher RPM though..... and I am not all that experienced with the stuff either.

I put a 600 cfm Edelbrock carb on my 300 inch V6 and had no problems with it at all(pretty good for a guy who worked for holley 15 yrs). It was flawless out of the box. I played with the tuning some to see if I could improve on it. Maybe got it a little better. It tore up a modified auto trans so it was running strong.

well, I called edel. up and they recommend the 500 for the 302...a 600 if it is moderately to heavy modified.

I ran a 600 edelbrock for about a year, and it wasn't enough. So I pulled the engine, machined it, stroked it to 347, put a 750 edelbrock, Edelbrock Heads, Cam, Intake, Roller rockers, Electric Fuel pump, and it's right where I want to be.

Talk about smacking the back of your head on the rear glass. Good thing it's Plexiglass.

All depends on just what kind of mods. you have. type of cam (not mild) but lift and duration, then the type of intake and the heads, and the type of valve train, all of this needs to be know in order to deter man the overall flow threw the power plant. If you go to the charts and look up the cu-in. and rpm range you will find that 450 was the factory size, knowing just what you have done and the rpm range you are looking at will give the guru's more with which to help you with.
