Trans shift points

Can someone help with the info I need?
'05 f-150 4.6 2WD - In the interest of fuel economy, I would like to lower the shift points and have the converter clutch lock up @ 35-40 MPH. Also increase the downshift rpm's (very touchy).
I use the truck for highway trips.

How can I manipulate these settings? Also, can I monitor them with a scanner in real time?
Thanks,
Hiway

Do you have a tuner? I use HPTuners and I can view and change all those. As far as real time, if you data log you should be able to see what is going on.

I do not have a tuner. That was my next question, what do I need to get to do this job? Any manufacturers websites?

I don't know any other software other than HP tuners. My buddy has all the equipment and I just had to buy the $200 license to use it on my truck. It gets pretty expensive if you just want to do a couple things. But he does his car and local chevy guys, and of course my truck. He does it more for fun than anything and to learn. I am sure the Edge and SCT (maybe even Diablo) can do some of this stuff also, if not all of it, but I will let others with experience with those to chime in, rather than spouting out info I though I read somewhere.

You can set the shift points with the Edge but I haven't tried it yet. Seems pretty straight forward.
