and you think diesel fuel is enviormentaly friendly? and it did come out of the ground and not the ocean where a lot of it's ended up. burn a little oil and save a whale or sea gull or whatever. maybe if enough of us did, find enough alternative fuel, the prices might go down you reckon?

I have probably 50K miles on used hydraulic oil and a lot of ATF which is a common air compressor oil. Almost 200K on the truck. I have even used synthetic compressor oil without problems.

Ive never burned anything other then frickin DIESEL FUEL and some DK - I have over 280,000 Miles. I dont see why you would ever put something else in your truck. these are some of the most expensive engines around and if they were ment to run on old trans fluid, oil, or any other BS it would be made public. Sorry but for some reasons these posts bother me

be bothered then. i don't care if you run dirt through your engine. i along with a lot others seem to have no problem with running oil or wahtever we can through our expensive engines or with you paying through the nose for your fuel. i'm strecthing a gallon of diesel fuel to 150 miles a gallon and not hurting my engine, the enviornment or my pocket. so whos helping here. being pissed off is better than being pissed on. i for one don't feel like doing what they tell me anymore. i think opec has enough of my money. i'll get my fuel where ever i can find it. the militarys been doing it for years. why do you think they use diesels in everything they can. so they can burn whatevers handy. why should they have all the fun.

It has been made public. Diesel engines were originally made to run on peanut oil. Just poke around google for awhile and you will be amazed at what you can find.

oh! you got that did you. your not as dumb as i thought you where. go on back to the pump buy now your on empty. and i know it should be by but your to dumb to catch the other stuff so i thought i'd just tell you. you acted like diesel was the only way to go. you got a lot to learn. your the earths savior. did i do that right or did i put something out of place or maybe misspelled something again for you. too bad your too worried about my spelling and grammar and not about some really important stuff like another come back on why we sholudn't burn oil like hundreds of people are and have been doing. always a smart a in the crowd. if we don't do it your way your not going to play. e m if it burns then burn it oil (oil) see i really meant all but i put oil as a pun, adjative, or noun, or a play on word, oh hell i don't know what it is i failed english.

A diesel is an oil burning engine! The only reason it is not widely known is generally speaking nobody pays taxes on their alternative fuel.

Did you think of that all by yourself? That's a good one.

No, I did not act like diesel was the only way to go, Thats how you wanted to perceive me. I have actually ran my truck on several gallons of bio and I am currently looking to build my own reactor. If you failed english...which is probably true, then that would be your problem and not mine. I was simply trying to expand your horizions.

My 7.3 is too old and worthless to be putting $3.20/gal diesel into. I did some research and talked to a guy that has ran everything with oil in the name. He was telling me about hydraulic oil and that sparked my interest since I know where to get a bunch. He said it will make a diesel run better than on diesel. Not sure why that is but it probably has to do with how it lubes everything and some other things probably that I cannot think of. I have picked up 70 gallons of the stuff but have yet to burn it, but as thin as it is I see no reason why you couldn't use it in winter. It will not gel on you or anything like diesel does and just the lubrication properties of it are enough for me to want to use it. People don't use anything but diesel because nobody talks about it.. and companys don't advertise about being able to do it, especially oil companys that want you to pay the premium on diesel. I have talked to many guys that have had fuel system components fail because of the ULSD. If there are any disadvantages to using the hydraulic oil, I think the advantages would out number them.

thank you, yes i did. now that my horizon have been expanded i feel much better. i didn't realize i needed that. no i really didn't fail english i don't think, it's been a few years like 41 to be exact and i've burned a lot of oil since then. i was going to put sense but figured you would just tell me i spelled it wrong. surely your not going to run that through your diesel?

way to go. burn it all. maybe that's why nobody talks about it cause they don't want everybody going for the used oils they'll be as high priced as the diesel fuel. isn't it a rip off anyway. why is diesel fuel more expensive than gas.
