brake bleeding with proportioning valve???

can you bleed the brakes with a vaccuum pump if you used something to hold the brake pedal down so the valve stays open? or do you have to use something to hold open the little nipple thing on the pro. valve

All Ive done is just suck out the brake fluid and air with the vacuum pump. Its a one man job. Just dont suck the master cylinder dry then you gotta start over.

Maybe you have a broken brake line or a restriction somewhere?

I have always just put a clear hose on the bleeder and the other end into a bottle with some clean brake fluid in it. Then press the pedal all of the way down several times until it starts to feel firm. Make sure that the master cylinder does not run dry. Make sure there are no bubbles in the tube, close the bleeder and move to the next wheel. Do this to all four corners from the farthest to the closest. I have used this procedure for many years with great results. It's always hard to find another person to push on the brake pedal when you need to.

Need clarification on brake rod

When bleeding the front brakes on a F150 I am reading that I need to reset or do somthing with the P valve. Do I do this after I bleed the front brakes AND
do you have a diagram of what I need to pull out?

Thanks

along your frame rail if you follow the brake lines down you will see the proportioning valve on the front there is what looks like a grease nipple kinda sorta you have to use some vice-grips to hold it out while you do the fronts. obviously you want to do the rears first
