Thumbs up Need Help With Engine

HELLO GUYS HOW CAN I KNOW WHAT ENGINE DO I HAVE IN MY ECONOLINE WHRERE ARE THE NUMBERS AT ? ALL I KNOW IS THAT IN THE DOOR TAG IT SAYS ITS A 1965 BUT THE DOORS ARE ORANGE AND THE TRUCK IS WHITE MAYBE THE LAST OWNER CHANGE THE DOORS PLEASE HELP

If it is a stock 65 econoline it would have a 200 or a 240 the 200 will have an integral intake manifold(part of the head can't remove) the 240 will have a removable intake. Welcome to FTE and please turn off your CAPS LOCK its like your yelling. Rich

The valve cover on the 240 is also bigger and more square.

Just in case, the 200 has 5 freeze plugs on the intake side of the block. The 144 and the 170 only have 3.

144/170/200/250 I-6's: The intake manifold is part of the head, it is not removable.

240/300 I-6's: The intake manifold is removable.

Vehicles after 1948 are registered by the VIN number.

The VIN engine code is the 4th digit (thru 1980).

1965: J = 240 / S = 200 / T = 170

The VIN is on the door tag and the doors on these trucks got swapped out routinely. Unless you know for a fact that your truck has the original doors, the door tag is the last place to look.
