I am told it has a EFI 460 in it, how do I tell. It runs awesome, and it's well kept. I payed $4000.00 for it, did I pay to much, it also has a snow plow with it, that I plan on selling real soon, any buyers?
The VIN code for a 460 is a "G".Also,on the valve covers there will be decals from the Lima,Ohio assembly plant.Usually, these don't wear off,so they should be visible. The EFI460's intake manifold will have twin throttle bodies mounted horizontally with twin air ducts going into the factory airbox located in the front left corner of the engine bay.The width of the engine would be another clue. The 385-series 460 is wider than a 351 Windsor.A much more easier way to tell if you have a EFI460 in it:while at a stand-still floor the go-pedal down-if it lights-'em-up easily enough, you have a 460!
