The welder was regular priced at $980.00,I got it for $617.00 after taxes.I'm not too sure aboot Hobart merging with anyone, could be.The welder came in yesterday, but I think Ackland's is closed on weekend's.I'll have pick it up Monday.

I've never done any welding so I'm kinda nervouse. But I'm really looking forward to learning.I'm sure once I feel confident in welding I'm going to want a bigger one.

I thought of that.I think I'm going to head down to the library and see if I can find an instructional video on body work. The welder comes with a dvd,but I think it's just going to tell me how to use it.

All I know about body welding is lots of small welds. Don't get panels too hot.

Welding with a mig is really easy. I havent tried any body panels yet, but I have done tons of other messing around welding with it. Its really fun and easy to get the hang of.

Watch the video play with the welder. Watch the video play with the welder. Watch the video play with the welder. Generally those videos give you a pretty good idea on what to do but its mostly just practice and getting a feel for your settings. Just practice running beads on an old hood or something. Perfect for getting your settings right before you start on your project. Also use a quality wire. It can make a huge difference.

I'm not sure what you are trying to tell me.Could you say it one more time? Ya, the guy told me the same thing when I ordered it.I think that old part's truck will be a good practice piece.

What I did when i got mine was exactly like Mike suggested. I went and cut a old hood apart and then I practiced a ton on that. Good advice Mike, although I do suggest that Sedly watches the video, and plays with the welder too
