Help - Oil Pump Drive - Out of Position

I have reassembled a rebuilt 302 and during the course of trying to verify the oil pump is generating pressure I have apparently lifted the drive rod up out of the pump and now I ca't get the drive tool or distributer on.

Is it remove the pan time or is there a way to reach it from above with a tool or such?

Thanks

You should always adjust the collar on the drive shaft when you are putting in the oil pump, but now you know that.

The best teacher is experience! Yep, I screwed up! Now I know how it is to be done. These little details are not well covered in Chilton or Haynes....:-)
