03 Expedition Spark Plugs Change

Hey guys, I have a 03 Expedition with only 45,000 miles on it and decided to change the spark plugs. Just curious on what kind of plugs does everybody like to use or suggest, Platinum or Iridium? I know that the Platinum can last around 50K - 100K depending on which brand and Iridium is the newer stronger metal that will make the plugs last 100K or more. The Expy came with Platinum and recommended spark plug change at 100K, but there is no way I'm going to wait for 100K to change the plug, afraid it will seize up in the cyclinder if I wait that long (at the rate I'm driving my Expy it will be around 2013 before I hit the 100K mark) It takes roughly 3 hours to change the spark plugs and I don't mind doing it to keep my Expy well maintained, but I only used Platinum plugs again, my reasoning was that I'm going to change them in another 40K-50K so it will be pointless to dish out an extra $5-$6 per plugs for Iridium plugs over quality Platinum plugs. The old Platinum plugs was seem more than semi worn out and I was only at 45K of the 100K, definately glad I didn't wait til 100K (oh by the way, before I changed my spark plugs I was at about 12 mpg city and after changing them I'm at 15-16 mpg after a 2 tank test - also did an oil change and clean the air filter, I changed the air filter at 40K) But just curious what everybody else is doing with their spark plugs?

the stock motorcraft are the best option. i had mine changed at 75k. no issues, just keeping up on maintainance. then had them done again when the s/c was installer(needed to be colder). in that case, i use ngk, but definately motorcraft or autolite as a second choice.
