I didn't do my homework (too excited, I guess) The cat delete pipe I bought from a private party, although advertised as a cat delete for a STOCK system, is in fact an MBRP, not the AFE style that I really need. I didn't look at my system before I handed over the $$, so now it's mine to deal with. Those of you in the know, know what I'm up against here... Is there a donut gasket out there that'll work for me on this? I don't really want to resell this MBRP delete pipe if I can make it work with a simple flange gasket, you know? Fill me in on the tricks!

Reason: For a better draw
Ozx, I do believe I know what you are referring to. MBRP makes a gasket (which should have came with the pipe) that should do exactly what you need it to.
As a matter of fact, I think I have one laying around here if you need it.

Hey, Matt! I do need it... I was not looking forward to rummaging around for one. The gasket that the private party gave me with the pipe was a flat gasket. My stock down pipe has the concave/accepting radius end, so the flat gasket is not happening. On another matter, the Xcal3 is still on my list of wants, but it gets bumped a lot by the list of needs. Defying this logic, I bought the wrong cat delete pipe! Let me know on the flange gasket, OK? PM me the cost and I'll payPal you, OK?

The gasket I've got here is flat also. However, times I've done this before I simply trim the gasket to fit. The cat delete pipe you have should slide over the ball end of the downpipe to meet flat with the flange, and it should seal just fine.

Thanks, Matt... I'll give it another go. The gasket that I have is already too big to mate with the ball surface of the down pipe, so I'll cut a new one from bulk and try, try again :-)
Drop the coin on a MBRP 3.5" DP and it will bolt up with no issue.
Throwing $$ at it won't happen... I cut a custom gasket for the job last night and hope to have time to install it before the super bowl. Thanks for the suggestion, though! I just don't have the time or $$ now to take it.
Oz, what did you finally do to resolve this? I am having the same problem. I bought a MBPR cat delete pipe off ebay that says it fits a stock exhaust, but the flange on it is flat and the stock flange that it needs to bolt up to is concave. The flat gasket that came with the pipe doesn't even come close.

I bought some high-temp gasket material and cut a new gasket with an inner diameter small enough to make contact with the down pipe. Theoretically correct, but I never did get another chance to bolt it up, but it'll work! Others have done the same and this was also a recommendation of a couple of guys that really know their stuff...

Thanks, I guess I will have to give the gasket a go. If I wasn't concerned with preserving the old cat, I would just gut it and return the test pipe. So how does MBRP get away with advertising these as a stock replacement?

MBRP 4" Test Pipe/Cat Delete Aluminized Steel
Direct Fit For: 2003-2007 Ford F250/F350 6.0L Diesel Trucks
Part# FAL414
Have you ever wondered how your ride would perform without the resrictive catalytic converter? Do you want a more aggressive exhaust note? Its easy, just pick up a cat delete and bolt it into place. Each unit is a simple install using common hand tools.
There is always someone who wants to push the limit, someone who wants all the cool parts for their Powerstroke truck. MBRP has created the Test pipe to add more power to your trucks
Bolts directly to stock exhaust system. For aftermarket or MBRP 4" Exhaust systems minor cutting is required to make a proper fit.
I copied and pasted the above from the ebay page that I bought it from. Now I don't know if that is their description or something they got from MBRP.
