I have a 79 F150 Supercab 4x4 auto with 460. I am having alot of trouble with the firing order, more than ive ever had on any vehicle. I need someone to tell me the firing order and is it clockwise or counter clockwise. I have tried and tried, I just cant get it right and I am NOT a good mechanic lol. Thanks

 

The firing order is counter clockwise and it is 15426378. I had the same problem with my truck. All it would do is spit flames out of the carb flip it 180 and still spitting flames. then I wired it counter clockwise and it started. Hope this helps

 

Firing order is to do with the actual engine than the model of truck.

The firing order mentioned above is the mostly used one.

Fords go counterclockwise. The "other" brand goes clockwise.

 

Not true; Ford inline 6's are clockwise.
