Exhaust question

i have my 4 inch exhaust pipe cut just behind the rear of the cab right now with no muffler. If i cut it further up maybe jsut under the front seat or so what would this to the sound? would it make it deeper or louder?

It would change the sound a bit ... But I would be afraid of the fumes going into the cab especially when not moving ... Do you really want to be sitting at a long light with smoke coming in your window?

Good point, id rather not suffocate at a red light. Maybe I will just keep the pipe at the rear of the cab and install a turndown onto the end of it to bounce the sound off the pavement.

dkf is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I would check your local laws.

In PA where I live, the exhaust cannot exit in front of the back of the cab. It must exit at least behind the cab.

I don't think its something that is enforced, but your never know.

I think stacks would be good.

If your looking to keep it a little more on the down low, I would just do the turn down, but if your willing to do the stacks, hell, why not. Just be prepared to be noticed

Stacks are nice. Cut off flat about an inch or so below the top of the cab. Then it wont be as obvious, well except the plumes of smoke coming from them.
