L&L headers

Well last week i finally pulled out the credit card and ordered me some L&L headers. I came home from school, put the truck in the garage , and put them on. It was a pain in the butt but i got them on. I loved the way it sounded when i drove it into town to get the pipes lined up. Been driving it alot this week and can really feel the difference, and it sounds alot better to. Hopefully this summer i can put an intake, cam, and all the good stuff in.(still have a ton of questions for that stuff)

L&L headers

I was wondering if the headers you chose were fender exit ones, If so was there any special modifications needed. How do fender exit headers actually work on your truck. I have 79 f-250 too, I know on my friends race car the fender wells have been removed and the headers still hit the tires up front. Is this the same for you, or I am off in the wrong direction. I'm looking for some headers for my 460, and the only ones I found were Hookers. I herad about L & L but never really put things together. Any information would be great.

L&L headers

I have a set of L&L's on my 69 thats on a 78 F250 frame and had them on my 79 before that. When I put the on I removed the steering shaft and loosened the drivers side shock tower to put the left one on.The right side went right on.You have to do a little bit of triming on the metal innerfender. The left tire just barely rubs at full turn with 12.50x33's and 9.75 wheels. You could adjust the stops on the front axle to stop it from rubbing.I love the fenderwell exit for the fact that the exauhst is out of the way when working under the truck and there is no heat off of them on the starter. They do add ALOT of power.I used 36"long 3" glasspacks and 3" pipe ran out in front of the rear tire,it sounds awsome.
