mystery switch - 1977 ranchero

What is the joystick like switch for in a '77 ranchero.

Joystick?

1977/79 Ranchero & 1977/79 LTD II = same dash/same gauges/same switches.

Where is the "switch" = on the door, or the middle of the dash somewhere?

Prolly the Remote Control mirror switch.

its between the wipers and the radio *****, its a 360 degree rotating toggle like switch.

It's not an electrical switch.

The **** is attached to the right hand outside mirror cable, so the mirror can be adjusted from the drivers seat.

The cable goes from the mirror, passes through the door, runs behind the dash to where the **** appears on the dash.

The ****/cable/mirror came as an assembly only.

If you move the **** and the R/H mirror head doesn't move, the cable is broken.

That was fairly common back then...the cable is paper thin.
