89 f250 460 / c6 , 4:10 gears 4x4. what is considered normal oil consumption

Over 100,000 miles...A quart between oil changes is not uncommon..

oil consumption

My 94 F250 460 with about 68,000 on it burns maybe a quart between the 7,500 mile oil changes. I use Valvoline Syntehtic 5W30 BTW.

Normal all depends on the brand of engine and who is writting the manual. Some car companies believe 1 qt every 1,000 is not unreasonable. IMHO 1qt every 3,000 is about normal for an engine with miles on it.

YMMV, your mileage may vary...
