just droppin in

hey all....

it's been a long while since i was in here last....how's everyone doin?? who's still around?? i see matt and dick are still here...who else?? my hunting season wasn't the greatest, but i do have meat in the freezer thanks to a nice 25 yd shot w/ my recurve on a 2-3 yr old whitetail doe....she looked the other way at the right time, and everything came together good for me....other than that, i passed on a buck on private ground the last day of season because the landowner and i had only discussed me filling doe tags, nothing about shooting a buck...but, next year, i have permission to shoot any deer, which might just help me out a bit....anyway, catch ya'll next time around....

Well, Good luck!

I've been sitting since about mid-November, and even though I got a fat raise on Jan 1, I won't go back to work until at least early March. Also, because I am a full time college student, I don't qualify for unemployment...

And I'm mostly history. I'm FTE's new black sheep. I just check in to read jokes but seldom post anymore. I guess being resident grouch caught up with me. Oh well...

I worked at MDF for a while. Production Line Labor. The pits to say the least. Good luck.

well, i didn't get the MDF job this time around....apparently they had some layoffs in some other plants, and my dad said they were trying to soak up some of the layoffs before hiring new people on....sucks, but i understand why they would do that....but, i could really use the money right about now...lol....anyway, dick...you, me and tim should try to get together sometime for coffee or whatever....i know i haven't made the ronnyvoos in the past, but perhaps we can set somethin up....let me know what you think....i'll drop you a message in your private box, too...

Almost worth driving to Kalispell! I have a much newer vehicle now, so things are better with the travelling ability.

I'm still around, I just check into the 80-86 forum and that's about it. I'm working at a place called Industrial Gad Distributors. I love the job even though for now I'm working outside. Pretty soon I'll be re-testing gas cylinders in a nice toasty section of the building. I'm also getting ready to swap out the 460 from my 86 F-250 and drop in a 300-6 and NP435 tranny.

Good to hear from you too Dan, been a while. I'm about to place an order with CMP to get me an M1 Garand. I am really stoked, I was thinking about an AR in .308, but .30-06 is still less than half the price of .308, and a very bottom no frills AR in .308 starts at $890, twice what an M1 Garand runs. Plus the ultra cool factor.

Hey guys! I admit it has been awhile since I've talked to y'all, but with work and married life, it's hard to find time to get on the computer.

I'm hoping to find a donor truck this summer and grab all the parts and pieces to make that 300-6 swap painless and then actually do the work in the fall in time for winter driving. I'll take some pics and let you guys know how it goes. I'm thinking it shouldn't be too hard. BTW, I'm going to be selling the 460 in my truck if your interested. I only have 15,000 miles on it since the rebuild. $750 for the whole thing, carb to oil pan and everything in between. Let me know and we might work out a deal.

And Matt, when you get that M1, you'll have to give me a call so I can be there for the great shoot-out. 672-0766. I'll have to show you my new toy if we go shooting. My Dad gave me his No.4 MKIII Enfield after his cancer scare. I have yet to go fire it even though I have over 1500 rounds for it.
