There's a guy here in town that has one,(AFAIK it hasn't been out of the garage in probably 20 years) but it is not for sale at any price. He's one of those guys that will own it till he dies, then the kids will either fight over it or give it all away because they wouldn't have it. He has a mint 64 F100 that was his Dad's, and several other 50's-60's Fords that I drool over. No mid fifties effies though
Ahh. Just clicked the link. 57 Ranchero. You'd think a ground up resto would have included removing the dings from the inner tailgate.. I love it just the same.

I'm sorry Sir. Your looking for parts for a WHAT???
Lot o resto rods out here. Have a cd of pics from the cornhusker nationals in keeneburg co. Most are just cars with the body restord to original but running late model engine/trans/rear/PB/PW/AC/ETC. They make very nice dependable drivers no matter the badging. The latest RR addition is the injected motor,Northstar,4.6 Fords,Lincs,Late Hemi, etc. It really is the best of both worlds. I mean, you get to go to most shows, travel far in comfort, get them worked on anyplace, and still have a resale higher than what you spent to build. I do believe the Fords make the best RR cars. Take a lookie at Streetrodder just as 1 example. My last RR was a 52 Ford Courier sedan delivery with a 53 front clip,302-C4/9",PS,PB,PW,Tilt. It was like driving a new car. Made money on it too. I think most of our trucks are Resto rod if we did not change any of the body. ???

Did someone say COOKIES ??
Very nice car! One thing I hate about old vehicle ads is when they say ground up restoration and it has some obvious non original stuff. The 390 wasn't available till 1961 and the C-6 1966.

raerjim - I will ask you now that you kindly overt your eyes when I post pictures of my completed truck......whenever that may be...
I think the ground up restoration thing has turned into a generic term is really misused in a lot of cases. Those that don't really know should read any of the old car restoration bibles on the market and familiarize themselves with the terms. In most cases I think those that misuse or don't understand the terminology, have had someone else build the car/truck for them........

For the past 4 years or so my favorits magazine is/has been Hemmings Classic. I can't get enough of that old iron the styling/flow/lines and mechanics of those vehicles is fasinating.
As far as my Dream Car 57 Ford 2 Door Post, the stock Black and White Tu-Tone, The "Cop Car" heavy duty suspension look, a 352 Turnpike Crusier Built Engine, 4 Speed Toploader and a 9" 4:11 out back.
I had one in 65 with a T10 4 Speed. That lasted about 2 months then I thought I had a better idea, Oh well.

End of an Error
I agree about the terms being used, Dick. A real resto uses only nuts'n'bolts from the correct year vehicle, with the correct finish, yadda yadda yadda. I've got no patience to do it but I'm glad someone does.
My personal beef is with vendors and auctions that call their stuff NOS, when it is made in China or Taiwan, or a rusty old POS.
