i grew up in a truck and never heard anyone ever refer to a blown jimmy as havein an induction thingy. they were called blowers. as an owner poerater, my first trractor was a new 1966 kenworth with a detroit 8-71 318 diesel. they did weventually add a turbo on it and boasted the power to 350. i figure after millions of miles and a bunch of big trucks i woud have heard someone refer the blower as an "induction intake thing.

in my opinion turbos are much better... they create there own power, they may be a little harder to maintain but at least you dont have all that extra strain on yer engine that a supercharger creates (lots of extra wear and tear on yer motor) but turbos do have to spool so there's lag down low.

But.... you know what they say patience is a virtue haha

Here's a twist... turbo compounding. Scania made it popular, Volvo has used it, now the new Detroits are using it. Basically, it connects the turbine of the turbo to the engine's crankshaft to glean as much power as possible from the heat energy the engine produces. It has it's limitations, but a great concept for certain applications.
