My 01 f250, detailed from summer *WARNING LARGE PHOTOS!

detailed the truck back in july.

last july I detailed my truck, and i just got the pics up.

I washed it with dawn (2 oz to 2 gallons water)
then clayed it
then washed it with ardex car wash
then polished it with ardex mirror polish
then waxed it with zymol cleaner wax
then waxed it with ardex gold supreme wax
then sealed with ardex mirror seal

the pics are from a week after the detail. all i used to touch up the paint was Meguiars ultimate quick detailer. The new meguiars QD is very good. i usally use ardex, but the meguiars is much better.

Here is my home "supply shop" lol (not as clean as the truck)

now its winter. i bought bigger tires, took off my side steps, added some things, but the paint is sheeting water off as if it was just waxed.
Here is my truck now

Thanks

I did it by hand.
I really try not to use a buffer unless there is no other way. the clear coat is thinner than a piece of toilet paper, so i try to use as little friction as possable.

When I (used to) wax my ranger by hand I was dead tired. Cant imagine how you feel. The first time I did mine, I used a 3 stage meguires cleaner/polish/wax combo. After clay bar and all that I was beat.

The meguiars three step is a great process; and yes it is very tiring. my arms are just now starting to not feel like jelly!!!

but the better you do it, the less you have to do it, so its worth it.

not to mention a clean truck is a happy truck

thanks, the pin stripes where on the truck when i bought it. i usally hate pinstripes, but the ones on this truck i like, there silver and red. in the pic you cant really see, but the V10 decals i made on my buddies vinyle machine, they are silver with a red out line. they match the stripes nice.

Looks good.
I'd invest in the Meguiars G110 DA polisher. It is very gentle (you can have it full bore on your hand with no problem) and creates great results.

...better than any job that I've done by hand.
