The .030 slug hunt!!!

Wow.... well either all hells frozen over or ? Called Maddog, Barry R, Summit, and no one has .030 slugs in stock or handy on a shelf. Not even the forged units through Barry..scarry!!
Decided to give the guy in Montebello www.larrysperformance.com a call after seeing a link posted a while back. "Yep I gottem". Whhuuuaa!!!??? $525.00 for a kit like Maddog's 35 miles from home. I asked what cam it comes with he says "What do you want ? We grind our own right here" really Thinking to head out that way Sat for a peek at the shop and get a feel for things. Probably grab a kit and ask for some time to give them the cam specs I want for the build based on the details of the assembly. Not bad if it works out really IMO "which will get you a stick of gum if you have a nickel handy" LOL

Speed-Pro is out of FE pistons - - they moved the plant from Missouri to India, and it ain't going well.

I have the guys at Probe working on it for a moderate cost part...it'd be more than the old stuff - but whatcha gonna do?

We can get custom stuff from Diamond - but the cost is up there for a street guy.

.....from Missouri to India.....quite a culture shock. Not to mention more American people out of work.

Barrry: I got a kit from Larry's performance in Montebello, astonishingly they had a set on the shelf. Badger® pistons and other name brand stuff in the kit too. Wsnt to thrilled with the OEM timing set but hey it might be great to keep in the glove compartment just in case. Thanks for the help though was nice talking "hey Summit, Maddog, Northern...nobody had them so " I will be planning to get a hold of you for the 410 kit though. THOSE WILL BE FORGED

I'll keep that in mind when I buy my next kit.
